The Southern Arizona DUI Task Force announced Thursday that it will begin its annual year-end series of DUI sweeps next week.

A Suisun man was arrested Wednesday night following a DUI-related traffic accident in Fairfield that left a pedestrian in critical condition, authorities said. Around 8:40 p.m., a 44-year-old Fairfield man ran south across the 1300 block of West Texas Street and was struck by a white Ford sport utility vehicle, police said.
