    University of Connecticut police placed sobriety checkpoints around campus on Oct. 26 and 27, the Friday night and Saturday morning of Halloween weekend. The initiative was in addition to the regular DUI patrols the UConn police conduct. Between 400 and 500 cars were stopped by officers at the checkpoints, resulting in one DUI arrest and one arrest for alcohol violations.
