Macon police arrested a man and charged him with DUI after his car was involved in a wreck with a Macon police car Sunday night, said Macon police Sgt. Melanie Hofmann.

Bond was set at $100,000 Monday for a man accused of drunken driving while awaiting trial on a felony DUI charge.

A Frankfort man was arrested on DUI charges early Monday after he allegedly hit a car in an apartment complex parking lot that hit a building before hitting a building himself.

University of Connecticut police placed sobriety checkpoints around campus on Oct. 26 and 27, the Friday night and Saturday morning of Halloween weekend. The initiative was in addition to the regular DUI patrols the UConn police conduct. Between 400 and 500 cars were stopped by officers at the checkpoints, resulting in one DUI arrest and one arrest for alcohol violations.
