Metro DUI Issues 108 Tickets During Traffic Enforcement
Metro DUI officers in Shelby County issued more than 100 tickets Friday night while looking for drunk drivers. But none of the tickets written were actually for DUI.

In 2007, Metro police made nearly 5,000 DUI arrests, which was a 32 percent increase from the previous year. Police vigilance persisted into the New Year. Since New Year's Day, police have made more than 1,000 driving under the influence arrests.

Buffalo Bills receiver Roscoe Parrish was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence, police say. Parrish was stopped at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, said Miami Beach Police Department spokesman Juan Sanchez.
