ELLINGTON — With a grant from the state Department of Transportation, state police will be doing DUI spot checks this month. The spot checks will be set up at areas that include Routes 74, 83, 286, 30, and 140, according to state police.

Sonoma County coroner's pathologist, Dr. Kelly Allison Arthur, was arrested in Lake County Tuesday on suspicion of DUI, possessing narcotics and trying to bring drugs into the county jail.

MANATEE COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- A judge has ruled that the breath-alcohol test results from more than 100 DUI cases in Manatee County will not be permitted in court.

In Imperial Beach, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol this year (DUI) arrests have increased marginally. To date, this year there have been around 150, according to San Diego County Sheriff's Department, Imperial Beach station Sgt. Jose Sanchez.

One charge against a state official accused in a DUI crash was dropped at a preliminary hearing today, and two other charges were bound over to Cumberland County Court.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office will conduct a DUI saturation patrol late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. The patrol will operate between 11 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday, Lt. Annette Haga said. Sheriff's officers worked 873 cases of driving under the influence and one alcohol-related fatality last year.

The Eastern Arizona DUI Task Force conducted saturation patrols over the holidays and reported 15 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol.

While statewide the numbers were up, DUI arrests in northeast Colorado were generally down this year.

BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. -- A Butler County street department worker is facing DUI charges after driving a salt truck into a police cruiser. Police said Rodney Rosen, 42, crashed a city salt truck into an unoccupied police cruiser on Friday night.
