The Academy Award-winning Screenwriter of "Pulp Fiction," Roger Avary has been arrested for manslaughter and DUI, after crashing his car in Ojai Sunday, killing a passenger.
A man and a child died Saturday and the child's mother was arrested on suspicion of DUI when the SUV they were in went off a freeway in Anaheim, authorities said. The crash was reported at 9:53 a.m. at the Raymond Avenue offramp to the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.

WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) - Maui police made over 1,000 arrests for driving under the influence last year, up 12% from the year before. The largest number of arrests - or some 200 - were made in the Wailuku district, followed by Kihei, where police made 173 arrests.
