A statewide drunken driving crackdown during Memorial Day weekend netted hundreds of DUI arrests, but fewer than in 2007.

COLORADO - Law enforcement agencies participating in “The Heat Is On!” and “DUI Checkpoint Colorado” made 558 DUI arrests over the Memorial Day Weekend enforcement period - down 27% from 2007 when there were 766 arrests over the Memorial Day Weekend.

A man being detained on DUI charges at Saluda County Detention Center is being investigated in a possible kidnapping incident in Greenwood. Victor Tomas Vasquez is jailed in Saluda after being arrested by the South Carolina Highway Patrol early Tuesday and charged with DUI.

A 48-year-old man who had been charged with five DUIs in less than a year and was arrested on his sixth charge Sunday, was formally charged with felony DUI Tuesday, according to information released by St. Clair County State's Attorney Bob Haida.

A 48-year-old Illinois man with four DUI convictions in Missouri, now faces a sixth drunken driving charge in Illinois.

85 Arizonans arrested by Memorial Day DUI task force
A Memorial Day DUI task force has netted 85 arrests of drunken driving suspects statewide. Of the 85 people arrested so far, 24 were arrested on extreme DUI and 13 for aggravated DUI. The rest were misdemeanor charges.
