    A 20-year-old man who is now listed in good condition at Tift Regional Medical Center faces DUI charges after a violent wreck that injured him and his 20-year-old passenger early Sunday morning. The car he was driving struck several signs and trees before overturning off U.S. Highway 82 just past Salem Church Road.

    An April court date has been set for a juvenile court judge and former Wythe County prosecutor charged Saturday with driving under the influence. M. Keith Blankenship is set to appear April 24 in Smyth County on DUI and refusing a breath test charges, both misdemeanors.

    The former head of Utah Highway Patrol's DUI unit has pleaded guilty to alcohol-related reckless driving. Fred Swain crashed his police cruiser into a concrete barrier in June 2006. A breath test at the time revealed his blood-alcohol level to be 0.11 -- in excess of the state's legal limit of 0.08.
