"Roving" police checkpoint catches DUI and unlicensed drivers
More than 3,500 vehicles passed through a "roving" DUI and driver's license checkpoint that began at 6 p.m. Friday and continued until 1 a.m. Saturday. Officers started out checking motorists in the southbound lanes of Coffee Road at Hageman Road and then moved to 23rd and F streets. According to the Bakersfield Police Department there were:
