    On Jan. 1, 2009, a new drunk driving law was passed in Illinois that includes the installation of a device for your car. This device, called the Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device, and must be installed in the car of a first time DUI offender. After it is installed, the device requires the offender to take a breath test every time they want to drive.
