Law enforcement agencies stopped and checked motorists at DUI checkpoints in Riverside, Lake Elsinore and Highland on Friday night, resulting in arrests, citations and impoundments. In Lake Elsinore, officers, sheriff's deputies and volunteers checked 1,152 vehicles as they passed through the inspection point at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Lakeshore Drive.

The Reno Police Department will better target drunken drivers after the Northern Nevada DUI Task Force donated 14 preliminary breath test units that help determine if someone is under the influence.

Honolulu police are on the lookout for drunk drivers. Last night alone, officers nabbed 23 people for driving under the influence. The DUI checkpoints will continue through the summer.

A Charleston City councilwoman is facing DUI charges. Police arrested 54-year-old Deborah Morinelli Friday.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department announced that Patterson Police Services will hold four DUI checkpoints in Patterson in the coming weeks. The first two will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. on June 26 and 27. The other two will be two weeks later, from 7 to 11 p.m. on July 10 and 11.
