  • DUI checkpoints scheduled May 6-10
    Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Cameron said Tuesday that the Traffic Safety Team will be conducting low manpower DUI checkpoints between Wednesday and Sunday, May 6-10. Deputies will stop traffic and conduct various test procedures looking for impaired drivers at multiple locations around the county.

  • Richard G. Wolverton sentenced to 13 years in prison for fatal DUI
    DECATUR - Richard G. Wolverton will spend most of the next 10 years in prison after being sentenced Friday to 13 years for driving his van under the influence of alcohol and drugs when he ran a red light on Jan. 23, 2008, and struck a car, killing two women in the vehicle.
