CARSON CITY -- The Nevada Senate has passed an Assembly-approved bill that would tighten state laws to ensure that people convicted of drunken driving in urban areas attend meetings with victims or family or close friends of DUI victims.

For the second year in a row, the Rockford Police Department ranked No. 1 in the state with 785 DUI arrests for driving under the influence, according to the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists’ annual rankings. Roscoe’s police department ranked No. 1 in the state in DUI arrest rate per officer in municipalities making 200-plus DUI arrests per year.

PLAINVILLE — A sobriety checkpoint set up last weekend yielded four arrests on charges of driving while intoxicated, four more on charges of possession of narcotics, and six on charges of operating unregistered vehicles.
