A 49-year-old Montana man who apparently was intoxicated when he came to court for his trial on a felony drunken driving charge has pleaded no contest to his 11th DUI. Thaylin Shawn Pierce, of Billings, entered the plea Thursday. He's free on bond until his sentencing June 22.

The Phoenix police officer accused of driving under the influence of alcohol has been formally charged with DUI.

The numbers are in after the St. Patrick’s Day holiday. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office driving under the influence enforcement between March 12-18 brought in 13 DUI arrests. Compared to five last year, the numbers made a slight jump.

A 49-year-old Montana man who apparently was intoxicated when he came to court for his trial on a felony drunken driving charge has pleaded no contest to his 11th DUI.

A Sevierville woman was charged with DUI and failing to exercise due care after the car she was driving went off Baileyton Road about 4:35 pm. Friday, cut off a power pole and came to rest about 100 yards from the road in a pasture.

Busy day: Judge Edsonya Charles sentenced Dwight David Benson to a year in jail for a 2007 DUI case and another year for driving with a suspended license -- sentences to be served consecutively. Also Thursday, Judge Ron Mamiya also sentenced Benson to a year in jail for a 2009 DUI case.
