The first three graduates of Thurston County's inaugural DUI Court recounted stories of how they got sober during an emotional ceremony Friday in Thurston County Superior Court.

The West Valley DUI Task Force is a joint effort among most West Valley police agencies. About 40 to 60 officers descend on a West Valley city for a night in a concentrated saturation patrol aimed at getting impaired drivers off the streets.

Impaired drivers are a very real danger to themselves and, of course, any motorist who is sharing the road at the same time. With this in mind, the Lee County Sheriff's Office launched a multi-faceted campaign of education, awareness and enforcement to battle this threat to our community.

The Northern Delaware County DUI Taskforce will be conducting a DUI Checkpoint during the weekend of Friday, April 30 within Springfield Township. The Northern Delaware County DUI Taskforce is comprised of six municipalities - Haverford, Marple, Newtown, Radnor, Springfield and Upper Darby townships. It has been in operation since September 2009 and has conducted five operations to date.
