  1. Kurt Tavernier: Every lawyer involved in the criminal justice system must adhere to a complex set of rules of procedure to ensure a fair trial. The rules apply to both prosecutors and defense attorneys. This complicated procedure means that the criminal justice system is best dealt with by an experienced criminal defense attorney. A defense attorney should get involved in a case at the earliest stages, even before interrogation, if possible.
  2. Senerius Law Firm: It is important to make sure that your rights are protected in any case involving alcohol or drugs.
  3. Thompson & King:

A drunk driving (DUI) conviction in South Carolina will result in serious penalties, which can include:

    2. Large Fines & Court Costs
    3. Mandatory Alcohol Education & Treatment
    4. Probation

Drunk driving (DUI) charges must be taken seriously. According to police, prosecutors, judges, and South Carolina DUI laws, drunk driving (DUI) is not a minor traffic violation. If you were stopped by police and failed a Breathalyzer test (registering a Blood Alcohol Content level of .08 or more) or refused to take the test, your driver's license will be automatically suspended. We will represent you in administrative proceedings to try to secure your driving privileges and in the criminal case.

  4. Nancy Jo Thomason: The most important thing you need to remember if you have been charged with any sort of crime is: DON'T TALK TO ANYONE!! What a lot of clients don't know is that you may not tell the police anything but if you talk about your case to friends or family, they can be made to testify against you. Therefore, the only person that you can speak with and have your comments remain completely confidential is your lawyer.
  5. Kenyon, Lusk & Anderson: It is important that you preserve your rights while protecting your reputation, regardless of the seriousness of the offense.
  6. Ronnie Cole If you are convicted of a first offense DUI in South Carolina, you are subjected to a fine of $300.00 or imprisonment for at least 48 hours. However, a person convicted of DUI 1st could have to serve up to 30 days in jail. Still, instead of being imprisoned for the minimum of 48 hours, a judge could sentence someone to 48 hours of public service. For a conviction of second offense DUI, a person can be fined a minimum of $2000.00 up to $5000.00 and imprisoned for at least 48 hours or up to 1 year. The fine cannot be suspended in an amount less than $1000.00. Again, a judge could order a person convicted of DUI 2nd to at least 10 days of public service instead of serving time in jail.
